Offers grants for U.S. citizen undergraduate students of limited financial means to pursue academic studies abroad. Such international study is intended to better prepare U.S. students to assume significant roles in an increasingly global economy and interdependent world. More info
- NSEP David L. Boren Undergraduate Scholarships
The National Security Education Programme (NSEP) awards scholarships to American students for study of world regions critical to U.S. interests (including Africa, Asia, Central & Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America & the Caribbean, and the Middle East). Scholarships are intended to provide support to U.S. undergraduates who will pursue the study of languages and cultures currently underrepresented in study abroad and critical to U.S. national security. NSEP emphasizes the importance of language study as a major component of a study abroad programme. More info

Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, the Fulbright U.S. Student Programme offers opportunities for recent graduates, postgraduate candidates, and developing professionals and artists to conduct career-launching study and research abroad. More info
- Fulbright full grants for EU
Awards are offered to graduate students and advanced Doctoral candidates with projects that focus on the new mechanisms for supranational governance emerging within the administrative framework of the European Union (EU). Consideration is given to clearly-defined projects that require a student's presence at EU institutions in Brussels and in Luxembourg, in other member states of the EU. More info

- Boren Fellowships
Fellowships of up to $30,000 awarded for study of world regions critical to U.S. interests, including Africa, Asia, Central & Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America & the Caribbean, and the Middle East. Fellows may seek support for a combination of domestic and foreign study; stronger proposals often include significant time abroad. Focus on geographic areas, languages and fields of study seen as critical to U.S. national security, drawing on a broad definition of national security, including military, political, environmental and social concerns. Boren Scholarships are intended to provide support to students who study languages and cultures currently underrepresented in study abroad. Study of a foreign language is an integral part of every Boren proposal. More info

Social security benefits for Finnish students
Finnish students please consult KELA or CIMO for the various social and financial security benefits provided to students studying abroad.
Scholarship for Turkish citizens (3-12 months) supports academic studies at graduate or research level at a university or similar institution in one of the EU member countries. Scholarships are granted exclusively for academic studies directly related to Turkey’s EU harmonisation process and the EU acquis.
