Upon applying please make sure what documents need to be submitted and when. Please note that candidates receiving an admission offer must also mail officially certified copies of their educational documents (diplomas and diploma supplements/academic transcripts) within 3 weeks from the announcement of the offer (unless instructed otherwise by the admissions staff). Certified copies should bear an original signature and seal of the authority certifying that these are true copies of the original. The documents can be certified 1) by an authorized official of the issuing institution, 2) by a notary or 3) with an Apostille attached. The University does not accept simple copies made on the basis of already certified copies. Please be sure to also check our country-specific requirements specifying the way documents must be certified.
Applicants graduating in 2020 and having their diplomas issued after the application deadline, should electronically submit the most recent official transcript by the application deadline. The transcript should be supplemented by an official statement from the issuing institution indicating current enrollment and expected graduation date. Admitted candidates are required to post the certified copies of their graduation documents as soon as they have been issued (no later than by the end of July).
Only complete application packages will be considered by the Admissions Committee.

Admission notifications will be sent through the DreamApply system. All admitted students must inform the university of their decision to accept or decline the offer by the deadline indicated in their admission notification.
If you think that your application was not treated fairly even though you met all the requirements and followed all the guidelines, you can contest the decision of the Admissions Committee. To do that you have to send your written contestation to the Student Admissions within one week from the announcement of the decision. The International Admissions Coordinator will then forward the contestation to the chair of the Admissions Committee for review in the Disputes Committee. You will be informed of their decision within 3 working days.
Students accepted to the University of Tartu cannot postpone the beginning of their studies to the next academic year.
Please be aware that those students who have been admitted to the University of Tartu, and would like to be readmitted to the same programme in the following two years cannot study free of charge. Thus, it is of utmost importance that the students starting their studies at the university would inform the university early enough to make sure that their admission could be cancelled before the beginning of an academic year.
If a student has been admitted, but it appears later that education documents submitted were either fraudulent or did not grant access to the particular level of higher education, the university has the right to exmatriculate the student, i.e. delete the student from the matriculation register.
